Frimpong had the chance to play for Ghana, the Netherlands and England, but he opted to play for the Oranges of Dutch.

Speaking to Joy Sports, the highly-rated Bayer Leverkusen defender revealed the Ghana FA contacted him to switch allegiance to play for the Black Stars but says his mind was already made up on playing for the Netherlands.

"That was nice to finally make my debut against France. It was a nice game and I was really happy about it,"

"The coach called me, I had a conversation with him but my mind was already made up," he added.

Frimpong made his debut for the Netherlands in October against France during the Euro 2024 qualifiers. He will hope to make the squad for the tournament slated for next year.

The 22-year-old has been in blistering form in the Bundesliga for Bayer Leverkusen, contributing 13 goals across all competitions for the German outfit.
