Myron Boadu’s 90th minute strike sees AZ Alkmaar beat Ajax in the Dutch Eredivisie

Dutch-born Ghanaian international Myron Boadu has emerged as the hero for AZ Alkmaar this evening after scoring a 90th-minute goal to hand his side a 1-0 win over Ajax Amsterdam in the Dutch Eredivisie.

The two clubs went into the match with just 3 points separating them at the top of the standings. Knowing that they could go level things on points if they get the win, AZ Alkmaar who played as the home team has managed to get the job done.

In the crucial match week 17 game played at the AFAS Stadion, neither side could get on the scoresheet even though a lot of chances were created.

In the second half, both AZ and Ajax canceled out their prowess until in-form Myron Boadu popped up on the 90th minute to send his strike straight into the back of the net to stun the defending champions.

The win means that the two teams are now on 41 points each with Ajax still top of the table on goal difference.

Ghanaian striker Myron Boadu continues to show his quality and has now scored 11 goals in 16 matches.
