Naismith set to depart Norwich City after just 16 months

Championship side Norwich City are set to release striker Steven Naismith for free in the summer, according to The Sun.

The Scottish international, who joined the Canaries in a £8.5m deal last January, is one of the top earners at the club with the weekly wages of £50,000.

The Canaries released up to eight senior players yesterday, and they are planning further cuts in the wage bill. Naismith still has two years left on his contract, and the club can save up to £5m in wages by releasing him this summer.
