The newly appointed CEO of Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah, has promised to make investment on the youth structure of the club.

In the last few years, Asante Kotoko have been mostly buying players from other clubs locally and abroad, leaving the youth system in the mud.

The Patron of the club, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II put a ban on the signing of new players for one year after appointing a new board, signaling his intent to focus more on developing the youth in the club.

In his statement after taking on the CEO role, Amponsah vowed to put in the needed investment on youth.

“In terms of youth development, this will be the foundation on which we are going to build a super structure” he said during his unveiling at the Sports Hotel in Kumasi today, August 7, 2020.

Amponsah has been given a three-year mandate.
