Board member of Asante Kotoko, Alhaji Abu Lamin has indicated that new CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah will decide whether the club will participate in the CAF Champions League next season or not.

Following the cancelation of the Ghana Premier League in July, the country’s football association revealed that it has settled on the Porcupine Warriors club and Ashanti Gold SC to represent the country in Africa.

Following the appointment of Nana Yaw Amponsah as the CEO of Asante Kotoko last Friday, Alhaji Abu Lamin says he will advise the board on Africa participation at a meeting next week.

“Nana Yaw will start work on Monday at the club secretariat to assess things and advice the board on Africa", the Kotoko board member said in an interview with Atinka FM

Alhaji Abu Lamin added, “He has not met with the technical team yet, and he needs to know the kind of players we have if they are quality enough, the club financial status before any decision”.

Kotoko has in the past decade featured in CAF’s inter-club competitions on a number of occasions but always struggle to challenge the other teams from the other countries.

The club wants to perform better going forward to ensure they enjoy success.
