In the last few years, Asante Kotoko players have complained in some ways about their salaries and the onus falls on Nana Yaw Amponsah to improve that.
Felix Annan, the captain of the club, hammered on the need for improvement in that aspect.
“For me the way Ghana has lots of great football talent, if there is a policy that ensures a minimum salary for football players in the Premier League is $1000, we will have players staying in Ghana to mature enough.”
The board agrees with this and Kwadwo Boateng Gyamfi, a board member, made it known to the public.
”I agree with Felix Annan on his suggestion of $1000 for local players," Mr Gyamfi told Kumasi based Oyerepa FM.
Nana Yaw Amponsah now has the CEO role of Kotoko and chief among his mandate will be to work on the player welfare of the club.
