According to theMirror, having already failed with a£14.5m bid for his services over the summer, Everton are set to make another attempt at signing Napoli forward Manolo Gabbiadini.

Apparently, Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is a big admirer of the 25-year-old, despite the fact he has only found the net three times this campaign.

Everton are on the lookout for a new striker because their current hitman - Romelu Lukaku - has long been rumoured to want away from the club, as he pursues his ambition to play for one of Europe's heavyweights, be that in January or - as seems more likely - in the summer.

While Gabbiadini has found himself slipping down the Napoli pecking order, that hasn't deterred the club from slapping a£20m price tag on the player - and at only 25, he still has plenty of years ahead of him, which is perhaps a factor in his rather lofty fee.

Starting his career at Atalanta, Gabbiadini has had a fair few moves under his belt already; after Atalanta he went to Bologna, then Sampdoria, and now Napoli.

He has featured 15 times so far this season.
