Nashville SC striker Ropapa Mensah to join Ghana U-23 squad in Egypt

Nashville SC striker Ropapa Mensah is expected to join the Black Meteors squad in Egypt ahead of the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations after his side got knocked out of the USL Eastern Conference semi-final playoffs. 

The 22-year-old was a second substitute as the home side lost 1-0 to Indy Eleven at the First Tennessee Park.

Mensah will join the Black Meteors squad in Egypt for the tournament from November 8-22, 2019.

Coach Ibrahim Tanko's side will leave the shores of the country on Monday.

Ghana will face Cameroon in their Group A opener before playing Egypt and Mali on November 11 and 14 respectively.

The top three teams at the tournament will qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games football tournament.
