NC CUP: Hearts record important 2-1 victory over Dwarfs to stay top

Accra Hearts of Oak has today, May 12, 2019, recorded an important 2-1 away victory over Ebusua Dwarfs to ensure they stay top of the Premier B standings in the Normalization Committee (NC) Special Competition.

The Accra based side after failing to beat a 10-man Liberty Professionals team on Wednesday recovered to tame the Dwarfs at their home grounds. A determined performance from the Phobians saw them come from behind to pick all three points from their opponent.

At the end of the first half of the match, the two sides had scored a goal each and in good spirit to come back from the break to snatch the winner. First, Albert Hammond scored for the home side before Christopher Bonney converted a penalty kick to restore parity for the Rainbow boys.

An improved second half performance from Kim Grant’s men paid off to enable them get the deserved results. They scored just five minutes into the second half courtesy a cheeky goal from teenage sensation Umar Manaf before going on to defend very well to keep the lead intact.

Today’s victory means Hearts still sits top of the Premier B division with 22 points from 11 matches. They are being chased closed by Karela United who has 21 points from the same number of games played.

The Anyinase based side also posted a 2-0 results on West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) at the CAM Park today.
