Leicester City and Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is surprised the Black Stars of Ghana halted the Super Eagles from booking a place for the 2022 World Cup.

Ghana drew 1-1 in the second leg with the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the Moshood Abiola Stadium. The first leg of the doubleheader was goalless at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

Black Stars captain and Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey scored at the Moshood Abiola Stadium but his early goal was cancelled by defender William Troost-Ekong.

The Black Stars of Ghana booked a spot through the away goal rule.

Ndidi, who was injured and missed the 2022 FIFA World Cup African qualifying playoffs, took to his own Twitter page to express his astonishment and sorrow at the Super Eagles' 2022 World Cup misfortune.
