Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu says the players are behind Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce after several criticisms from fans.
Atsu, who came off from the bench put an incredible performance to help the Magpies secure their first win in the 2019/20 season after beating Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 over the weekend.
The 27-year-old revealed that the formation adopted by the manager in win over Spurs worked very well, with the new boss creating a good atmosphere between the player since arriving.
Speaking to the Shields Gazette, the former FC Porto winger says the team is gradually understanding the game plan implemented by Steve Bruce.
“We’re a very good team,” he said.
“This is going to change a lot of things for the players and the fans. The season is a long season, so we just need to carry on. Any formation that he wants to play, we are behind him. We’re going to give everything.”
“I can say, gradually, we’re really understanding his gameplan. We’re very organised and always behind him. This is going to change the atmosphere.”
