South Georgia had two good chances in less than ten minutes early in the first half. Although new, the connection between Arthur Bosua and Kazaiah Sterling exposed the opponent's defensive unit.

After two crosses into the penalty area, Arthur Bosua and Kazaiah Sterling each had two shots, both of which went just wide.

Akoto of South Georgia scored his first professional goal in the last minutes of the first half. A through-ball assist from midfielder Tobias Otieno allowed him to outrun the Kickers defense, leaving him one-on-one with the goalie.
