Nick Owusu and Julius Ben Emunah in Douala for two-day CAF Safety and Security Officers retreat

Ghana’s Nick Owusu and Ben Emunah Julius have arrived in Douala, Cameroon for a two-day CAF Safety and Security Officers retreat.

The knowledge sharing programme follows the successful delivery of a safe and secured Total CHAN competition in Cameroon in January-February 2021 and other CAF competitions recently.

Julius Ben Emunah is the GFA Club Licensing Manager who doubles as Secretary to the GFA Safety and Security Committee and also works for CAF.

Nick Owusu previously worked as Chairman of the GFA Safety and Security Committee. He currently works for CAF and FIFA as Safety and Security Officer.

The retreat is aimed at building capacity on the African continent and also serve as a refresher course for existing CAF safety and security officers while also attempting at taking a specific look at the current safety and security concerns across the continent.

The programme kicked-off on Friday, April 23, at La Falaise Hotel Bonapriso in Douala.

The retreat will be conducted mainly by CAF Safety and Security Head, Dr Christian Emeruwa and Katharina Steinberg, FIFA safety and security Manager.
