Communications director of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Obed Acheampong has revealed that there is no financial implication involved in the sacking of Croatian coach Zdravko Lugarisic.

In the past the club has suffered financial implications for sacking Coaches who contract has not ended. However, Obed Acheampong told Happy Fm the porcupine Warriors made sure both parties would not incur financial damages from the aftermath of their relationship.

“If you observe results from our last six games, they haven’t gone our way so we met with him after the game and he agreed with the fact so we had to terminate his contract,” he said.

“Per his contract there is no way Kotoko will suffer any financial damages, the agreement we had with him when we were signing the contract is different from past contracts where you can trigger some clauses when the going gets tough. For us and Zdravko we had clauses one of which we triggered and has no financial bearing on us. I can tell you there is no debt with the contract termination.” He said.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko terminated the contract of Coach Lugarisic hours after their goalless draw game against Ebusua Dwarfs in match day 11 of the Ghana Premier League.

This comes after fans of the club prevented the Croat from training with the team last Thursday.

Kotoko have however asked assistant coach Godwin Ablordey to take interim charge of the club as they Wa All stars in Match Day 12 of the Ghana Premier League.
