Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has said who he thinks is the most dangerous striker in world football at the moment, and it's not someone any of you might think.
The term is usually associated with the likes of Sergio Aguero, Luis Suarez, Robert Lewandowski, Diego Costa and Lionel Messi, yet according to Buffon, they don't even match up.
The Italian legend's pick for the honour is currently playing in the Serie A, and no, it's not his teammate Gonzalo Higuain.
Buffon insists that it's AS Roma's Edin Dzeko. The former Manchester City striker has scored 17 goals in 23 appearances for the Italian side, and along with Mauro Icardi, is the joint top scorer in Serie A with 12 goals.
At the moment, he's the most dangerous striker, Buffon told Sky, (H/TSquawka).
He's adapted very well to [Luciano] Spalletti's plans and has understood them perfectly, and you can see the results of that. He's probably just a player who needed time.
In the end, leave aside the present Dzeko and he still has a very good record which speaks in his favour.
To think that he had all of a sudden become a mediocre player sounds a bit stupid.
The Bosnian scored 72 goals in 189 appearances for City, and registered 10 in 39 with Roma last term.
This season, though, he has hit a rich vein of form, and the goals are flowing. So perhapsBuffon has a point.
