NWL: Ampem Darkoa crowned champions of Women’s League

Published on: 08 October 2017

Ampem Darkoa were crowed champions of the women’s league after beating Lady Strikers 1-0 at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Saturday.

Black Queens striker Priscilla Adubea scored the only goal of the game as the Champions from the northern zone successfully defended the title.

Ampem Darkoa dominated the game and created a host of chances in the first half but could not find the back of the net.

Lady Strikers had some chances to upset Ampem Darkoa but the ladies in blue were just too strong for the Southern Zone champions.

Having beaten Hasaacas Ladies last season, Ampem Darkoa were hoping for a double but were booted out in the semifinals of the Sanford FA Cup by Immigration ladies.

Champions of the 2017 edition, Ampem Darkoa have broken the duopoly held by Police and Hasaacas Ladies.
