NWL: Second round starts this weekend

After a two-week break, the second round of the National Women’s League (NWL) begins this weekend, with clubs resuming their keen contest to be champions this season.

The first round ended on a high note for the league leaders, Elmina Sea Lions in the couthern zone, and Ampem Darkoa Ladies in the northern zone.

However, the two are closely chased by Immigration Ladies and Kumasi Sports Academy Ladies respectively, setting the tone for a brisk second round kick-off, given the fixtures for the weekend.

Ampem Darkoa, who drew 2-2 with Fabulous Ladies in Kumasi, will now welcome the former zonal champions to the Ohene Ameyaw Park at Techiman, Real Upper Ladies, trounced 6-3 by Northern Ladies have a chance to avenge that loss at Wa, Kumasi Sports Academy will be guests of Lepo Ladies at Tamale, with Ashtown Ladies, who won the 2-1 away to Prisons Ladies, hoping to continue from where they left off when they host the Reform ladies.

In the southern zone, Immigration Ladies 2-0 winners in the first round, host Holy Royals, Sea Lions will hope for a win at home against Hasaacas Ladies after their 1-1 draw in the first round, Police Ladies will also eye a Samaria Ladies scalp at home after their 2-2 draw with Soccer Intellectuals set to revenge when they host LadyStrikers after their 1-2 loss at Cape Coast.
