NWL Special Competition: Joyce Boateng secures a point for Ashtown Ladies against Fabulous Ladies

Ghanaian young goalkeeper Joyce Boateng inspired National Women's League side Ashtown Ladies FC to a goalless draw against Fabulous Ladies at the Wesley Girls park in the opener of then Normalization Committee special competition.

The match dubbed 'Ashanti derby' had Fabulous Ladies host arch-rivals Ashtown Ladies in their match-day one fixture.

Ashtown Ladies, who played as visitors maintained their good record with one of the power-house in Women's football, Fabulous Ladies courtesy of young goalkeeper Joyce classy performance.

Ashtown Ladies FC curtailed the homers from scoring a goal in both half of the game despite Fabulous consistent knocking on the door of Ashtown. Shot stopper Joyce brilliant organisatio of the backline held Fabulous Ladies to the second stanza with no goal for either sides.

The 17-year-old goalkeeper lasted the entire duration of the game to ensure they record a positive result in their first away match.
