Matchday one of the National Women's League (NWL) special competition was held at the various match centers across Ghana after months of football recess in the country.
The competition which is charged by the Ghana FA Normalization Committee saw all sixteen women's league club play each other in the four-team grouping.
At the Southern part, having its clubs divided into two groups, had Sea Lions in Elmina travel to the capital to share spoils in a 1-1 stalemate. Impressive performance by some away teams was exciting to watch.
In Group C of the competition, one power-house female team is Hasaacas Ladies. They made a trip from Sekondi only to be beaten 2-1 by Lady's Strikers on Saturday.
Elsewhere in the North, at the Ultrecht Academy Park, Pearlpia ladies FC silenced Prisons Ladies to a 2-1 narrow win at home.
Ampem Darkoa, who also find themselves in Group B of the competition beat Northern Ladies 2-1.
Day one of the Normalization Committee special competition recorded six wins and two draws with only one coming in as a win from home and 20 goals were scored on match day one from eight match venues.
