OFFICIAL: Daniel Darkwa completes move to Asante Kotoko

Kumasi Asante Kotoko have confirmed the signing of former Aduana Stars defender Daniel Darkwa ahead of the upcoming season.

The 29 year old refused to extend his contract with  Premier League Champions Aduana Stars at the end of the 2016/17 season following the expiration of his stay at the club.

Daniel Darkwa was key to Aduana's success last season, captaining the team in the absence of Emmanuel Akuoko for most part of the campaign. He played 23 games and scored twice.

The left back was part of the Black Stars B team that won the WAFU Cup of nations in Ghana, beating Nigeria 4-1 in Cape Coast.

The player's performance last season saw him earn a call up to the Black Stars and was on the radar of sevral clubs on the continent and the United States.

Daniel Darkwa will go for his floating status at the GhanaFotball Association on Thursday to make his move complete.

The versatile defender was left out of the Aduana Stars squad for Africa.
