OFFICIAL: Ghana Premier League to commence on December 21

Published on: 20 November 2019

The 2019/2020 edition of the Ghana Premier League will officially commence on December 21, 2019, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has revealed.

The local league has been absent for the past year following the airing of the Number 12 video from Anas Aremeyaw Anas which cripple the country’s football governing body, especially its head.

With the new president of the GFA Kurt E.S Okraku formally beginning his tenure earlier this week as he takes over from the Normalization Committee, a road map for the 2019/2020 season has been announced.

In a communique from the FA on Wednesday evening, they have disclosed that the Ghana Premier League, the Division One League, and the Women’s League will be kicking off on December 21.

Before that though, the football community will go for an Ordinary Congress on December 12.

Meanwhile, the GFA has opened its door for clubs to begin their licensing processes.
