Hearts of Oak have finally confirmed the appointment of veteran gaffer, Joseph Asare Bediako as their new assistant head coach.
The Ghanaian giants have been without an assistant coach since December last year.
In the 2019/2020 football season, head coach Edward Nii Odoom single-handedly handled the team in the campaign which was subsequently canceled as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Since January this year, there has been talk of an appointment of an assistant coach but it never came to light.
Finally, with just a day to the start of the 2020/2021 season, Hearts of Oak has announced that they have recruited former Berekum Chelsea head coach Asare Bediako as the club’s new assistant coach.
“Our new assistant coach, Mr. Joseph Asare Bediako. Welcome home,” a statement on the Twitter page of the club has said.
Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak’s Matchday 1 encounter against Aduana Stars on Saturday has been called off.
