Ghana Premier League giants Kumasi Asante Kotoko has appointed Norwegian tactician Kjetil Zachariassen as their new head coach ahead of the 2019/2020 season.

The former Ashanti Gold manager has been linked with a move to the club in the past week following reports that suggested that Coach Charles Kwablah Akonnor has been asked to step aside to take up the technical director role of the team.

Though CK Akonnor has accepted the new role at the club yet, the management of the Porcupine Warriors has today unveiled Kjetil Zachariassen as their substantive head coach.

The new Kotoko gaffer replaced Svetislav Tanasijevic at Ashgold midway through the GFA Normalization Committee (NC) Special Competition and managed to lead them to clinch the tier 2 trophy which in turn qualified them to the next edition of the CAF Confederations Cup.

Having arrived at the Kumasi based club, he has been tasked to build a formidable side that will ensure Kotoko marvelously when they start off their campaign in the upcoming CAF Champions League campaign.
