On-Loan Goalkeeper Lee Grant Reveals He's Desperate to Stay at Stoke

On-loan goalkeeper Lee Grant is desperate to stay in the Premier League with Stoke past his loan deal,which is set to expire in January.

The Derby keeper was called up to the Premier League as backup to veteran keeper Shay Given, while first choice Jack Butland is out with injury. But after an impressive display against Manchester United, he's hoping it's enough to keep his position between the posts for The Potters.

The Daily Star have quoted the keeper as saying: "There were no promises that I was going to be a number two or a starting goalkeeper so the job for me will be no different when Jack's fit.

My goals won't change. My goals are to work hard and to hopefully do enough so the club will hopefully look to extend the loan until the end of the season because I want to be here beyond January 3.

I'm enjoying my time, but I have to take things day-by-day, week-by-week. So I have to look at Sunderland, not looking when Jack is fit, or beyond Sunderland.�

Grant was voted man of the match for his efforts against United during the 1-1 draw. It is now expected he will start the important clash against bottom side Sunderland on Saturday.
