Head coach of Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs, Prosper Nartey has revealed that he was very optimistic succeeding as the head coach of the club when J. E Sarpong was shown the exit door.

Dwarfs endured a torrid start to the season with 9 points from 11 games. Coach J E Sarpong was replaced with Prosper Nartey and has seen a turnover in their campaign.

Nartey speaking to the media, said he wasn’t afraid to take up the difficult task though the club then lied bottom of the table.

”I was not afraid because I knew I could salvage them and make a name for myself. You know I coached my University team to win games so I knew I could do it”.

Prosper when asked about the possibility of joining the top-notch clubs in Ghana said.

“I don’t want to talk about my future, I have a contract with Dwarf and it won’t be easy to turn my back on them because they brought me this far and will wait till the end of the season”.

Nartey later said he is not on full-time coaching job since there is no job security in coaching particularly in Ghana.

“There is no job security in Ghanaian coaching as you can be fired with just three poor of results and moreover I’m a lecturer and Ghanaian laws won’t permit me to take up two full-time jobs”.

The Cape Coat based club are currently 7th on the league log with 34 points and will play Bechem United at the Cape Coast Robert Mensah Sports Stadium in the week 26 fixture of the Ghana Premier League.
