Head coach for the senior national team of Ghana, James Kwesi Appiah has charged the Kurt Okraku-led football administration to organize more training workshops for coaches in the country.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) as part of efforts to build the capacity of coaches in the country organized a training workshop for coaches in the Premier, Division One, and Elite Women’s competition.
The program which was held at the Secretariat for the Ghana FA on Tuesday saw a lot of local coaches taking advantage to benefit from the knowledge of coaches such as Kwesi Appiah, Evans Adotey and some others.
Sharing his thoughts at the end of the workshop, Coach Appiah shared his excitement and called for similar workshops in the future to help develop local coaches.
“It was great. This is something that I have always wished for because I think that once all the head coaches get involved with the discussions, I learn a lot from them and they also learn a lot from me”, the Black Stars gaffer told Joy Sports.
He added, “It is something that is long overdue. We should be doing this most of the time. I am hoping that since we started now the management will have the technical directorate to make sure such seminars are done”.
