ABSA Premier League side Orlando Pirates have reportedly made informal enquiries into the availability of Richard Ofori ahead of the summer transfer window.

Ofori has been heavily linked with a move away from Maritzburg United as his contract is set to expire at the end of the current campaign.

Mamelodi Sundowns are believed to be leading the race for his signature, though Belgian Pro Jupiler League side Gent, Bidvest Wits, Cape Town City, and Supersport United have all been linked for his services.

The 26-year-old has been one of the best goalkeepers in the South African top-flight competition as Maritzburg United lie 5th on the table with 39 points from 24 games.

He has kept impressive 10 clean sheets in 24 matches and is only one behind SuperSport United’s Ronwen Williams who tops the table with 11.

His impressive displays have earned him a nomination for the 2019/20 South Africa Premier League Best Player award as well as Best Goalkeeper award.
