The General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Prosper Harrison Addo, has come to the defense of former Black Stars coach, Otto Addo, describing him as a top-notch manager.

Addo, 47, guided the Black Stars to qualify for their fourth World Cup in Qatar last year.

However, the Borussia Dortmund talent coach came under criticism after the team exited in the first round of the tournament.

However, the GFA chief scribe believes his competence is without a doubt and won’t buy into augments that suggest Otto is a bad tactician.

According to him, Otto Addo brought some new ideas to the job and demonstrated a lot of capabilities.

"I can confidently say that no one can convince me he was a bad coach for Ghana. He brought in fresh ideas, tactical acumen and a deep understanding of the game," Harrison Addo told Asempa FM as monitored by Footballghana.com.

This, he said, was the view of many people around the team, including the players who all considered him a top-class manager.

"You can ask everybody on the national team, including the players, and they will tell you Otto Addo is top-notch."

Meanwhile, Otto Addo has been replaced by Chris Hughton after he left his role following the country's early exit.
