The Chief Executive Officer of AshantiGold, Emmanuel Frimpong has outlined the semis of the CAF Confederation Cup as the current target of the Obuasi-based club.
He believes that the presence of the Miners in the competition serves as an opportunity to put the club on the map of African football.
Asante Kotoko and AshantiGold were named representatives of Ghana in the continental competitions. Kotoko will play in the CAF Champions League whilst the Miners will feature in the CAF Confederation Cup.
“Our target is the semi-finals stage of the competition, and the aim is to put Ashantigold on the African Football map as one of the biggest football clubs,” he revealed on GTV.
The Obuasi-based outfit failed to reach the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup last season.
