The 27-year-old joined his current club in 2017 and has been one of their key players since. Last season, he featured for them during their one year stay in the German top-flight competition: the Bundesliga.

This season, he has scored one goal in 19 league appearances.

Paderborn are currently 10th in the lower division and with their tight budget, a drop to relegation will ensure a struggle to keep stars like Christopher Antwi-Adjei.

"If we place ourselves in the lower third of our budget every year, regardless of the league, we cannot guarantee success in the long term," warned coach Steffen Baumgart.
