The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has vowed to provide the necessary support to Medeama SC as they prepare to compete in the upcoming 2023/24 CAF Champions League on behalf of the nation.
Bagbin made this commitment during a special ceremony held in Accra on Wednesday, where the league trophy was presented to Parliament by Medeama SC and their management.
The event marked an important milestone for the football club, as they received recognition and endorsement from the highest legislative body in the country.
In his address to the attendees, Bagbin stated, "I want to, on your behalf, commit the house to go with them all the way to the continent to ensure that they win the African Cup for Ghana.
"This I will proceed to enforce to ensure that they get the necessary resources and motivation to surprise the continent by winning the cup."
Alban Bagbin has also pledged an amount of GH₵100,000 to Medeama ahead of their participation in next season’s CAF Champions League.
