Ghanaian midfield maestro, Thomas Teye Partey is in contention for a starting role for his Atletico Madrid side on Wednesday night where they are billed to host Lokomotiv Moscow at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.
The two clubs are in Group D of this year’s Uefa Champions League and will play their respective final games of the phase tomorrow.
While Lokomotiv Moscow has no chance of progressing out of the group into the knockout stage, Atletico, on the other hand, needs to win to cement their place in the next stage of the European Competition.
Ahead of the match, manager Diego Simeone will be expected to field a very strong starting lineup that will be capable of getting the job done without getting stunned.
It is therefore very likely that he will pack his midfield which ultimately means that Black Stars kingpin Thomas Partey will be in the thick of affairs.
His past performances in big games against Real Madrid, Juventus, and recently Barcelona should be enough to earn him a starting role in the crucial game between the Madrid-based club and the Russian giant.
