The Los Rojiblancos suffered a 2-0 lost to Athletic Bilbao at the San Mamés Stadium as their faint hopes of winning the La Liga title look to be over.

Partey, who missed the 3-0 defeat in the Uefa Champions League round of 16 clash against Juventus on Tuesday returned to the starting line up.

The 2017/18 Uefa Europa League winners struggled in front of goal throughout the match but felt they should have had a penalty prior to going behind when Mikel San Jose thwarted Alvaro Morata, though nothing was given.

Jose Gimenez failed to clear his lines with 17 minutes remaining, allowing Williams to steer in substitute Inigo Cordoba’s cross, with Kodro completing the win just 27 seconds after coming on in the 85th minute.

The Ghana international lasted the entire duration of the game.

Atletico remain seven points behind Barcelona, who travel to Real Betis on Sunday.
