Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has named the greatest XI that he has played with/against, with the list having one shocking omission. The 42-year-old who is considered to be one of the best midfielders in the history of the game, picked his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, while omitting his great rival Lionel Messi from the list.

The 42-year-old spent his entire professional career with Manchester United winning 11 Premier League titles, three FA Cup's, two UEFA Champions League and one FIFA World Club Cup with the Red Devils.


Having played in some of the best teams in the club's history, Scholes can boast of having played with and against some equally talented players. He's played with Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney, and against Xavi and Lionel Messi.

When asked by Spanish paper Marca to name the best XI that he has played with and against, Scholes would have had a tough task given the talent that he has seen during his career.


The United midfielder did come out with his XI, which has got some people questioning his choices, in particular the omission of a certain Lionel Messi and former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry.
