Pep Guardiola Given Injury Scare as Keeper Claudio Bravo Limps Off After Collision in WCQ for Chile

Manchester City boss has been given an injury scare following the news that Claudio Bravo limped with a knee injuryoff following a collision during Chile's World Cup qualifier against Colombia.

The Chilean was brought in by Guardiola to replace the club's former number one keeper Joe Hart, purchasing him from Barcelona in the summer for £17m.

However, according toThe Sun,it looks as though Bravo may be temporarily on the sidelines when he returns from his international duty following a knock to his knee.

Bravo bravely came rushing out of his goal to close down Colombian defenderSantiago Arias, who was through on goal, and clashed knees with the player that left the City shot-stopper clutching his leg in pain on the floor of the penalty area.

Former Catalan boss Guardiola now faces an anxious wait to discover if the injury, which forced Bravo off of the field on foot, is serious enough to make him unavailable for Premier league duty on returning to England.

The 33-year-old has been a reliable figure since joining the Etihad in August, however Guardiola will be keen not to have his hand forced into replacing Bravo with his substitute keeper Willy Cabellero, who has been unconvincing in his performances since joining the club under former boss Manuel Pellegrini in 2014 from La Liga side Malaga.

Next up in the league,City face a tricky visit to Alan Pardew's Crystal Palace, and will be looking to regain top spot in the top flight after being knocked off by in form Liverpool.
