Alves, was one the first signings made by the Spaniard when at Barcelona, bringing him from Sevilla in 2008, with the duo going on to experience a lot of success together. Despite being 33-years-old, Guardiola believes that the Brazilian would bring that winning mentality to the squad, with only Yaya Toure and Claudio Bravo among the current squad to have won the Champions League so far.

Italian side Juventus for their part are ready to let go of the Brazilian as he has struggled to fit in since making the move to Turin last summer. Alves has so far made 19 appearances for the Serie A side in all competitions, scoring three goals while also registering three assists.
