PHOTO: Lionel Messi's Dramatic Makeover Continues as Barca Star Reveals Striking Black Leg Tattoo

The long, overgrown ginger beard, the blonde highlights and an arm sleeve tattoo and now a frankly ridiculous blacked out ink job on his left leg; Lionel Messi's transition into an early 90's rock star is complete.

The 29-year-old Barcelona superstar debuted his new ink in a training session with his Argentina teammates for their upcoming World Cup qualifier matches against fierce rivals Brazil and Colombia.

All that remains from the previous work on his famous left leg is the number '10', a football and hands from his eldest son Thiago. The sword and flower patterns that were previously there have been blacked out completely and it truly is a sight to behold.

Not one famed for deploying the rolled down socks like George Best, or more recently Thomas Muller, the likelihood of seeing Messi's new blacked out tattoo on a regular basis is low, but the tattoo will be one more reason to watch Barca's future training sessions.

But if he wasn't happy with the previous results on his leg, he will surely be a bit more pleased with Barcelona's form, despite his mini tantrum during the 2-1 over Sevilla on Sunday.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner produced a tremendous performance to overturn an impressive Sevilla side with a goal and an assist to take them within two points of Real Madrid at the summit of La Liga.

As is customary these days, Twitter reacted to Leo's latest tat, with many comparing the newly-inked peg to the US presidential election result:
