Nicknamed Porcupine Warriors, the Kumasi-based club had a tough time competing in the Ghana Premier League last season.

Following a roller-coaster campaign, Asante Kotoko missed out on defending the Ghana Premier League title and finished fourth at the end of the season.

In an attempt to get things in order, the owner and Life Patron of the club, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has constituted a committee to run the club.

The committee after engagements has reappointed former coach Prosper Narteh Ogum as head coach of Asante Kotoko.

Since last month, the Reds have been training as part of preparations for the upcoming football season.

This weekend, the coaches are taking the players through intensified training sessions to get them in top shape.

The club is expected to play a number of friendlies before the start of the new Ghana Premier League season next month.
