Boateng trained with his teammates for the first time at the Dalian Sports Center Stadium on Monday.

The 22-year-old is gearing up for the new campaign after joining Dalian Yifang from Spanish La Liga side Levante UD due to lack of playing time.

"It's a beautiful city and the fans of the club are amazing. Training with them for the first time was exciting," Boateng told Kickgh.com

"I was warmly welcomed by my teammates. Everyone looks glad to see me around. First day at training with Dalian Yifang was great. I want to leave a mark at the club"

He joined the Chinese club from Levante UD on a four-year deal.

Boateng famously scored a hat-trick against Barcelona in a 5-4 home victory last season to break the unbeaten run of the Catalan giants.

But he has struggled for form this season scoring just once in 16 La Liga appearances, including seven starts.

He made a total of 50 appearances across La Liga and the Copa del Rey for Levante, netting eight goals in his one-and-half seasons with the Valencia-based club.

The highly-rated forward is expected to make his debut for Dalian Yifang against Henan Jianye FC in their league opener on Sunday.
