Vitriolic statements about his person on radio discussion programmes would have left many thinking Black Stars coach Avram Grant was a pariah and would be shunned and booed by fans when the Black Stars opened their training camp yesterday at the St Thomas Aquinas Park in Accra.
However, the situation was very much different as fans beaming with smiles mobbed the Israeli after the training not for negative reasons but to grab a selfie with the national coach.
It has widely reported that Grant will leave his post after the AFCON after a turbulent relationship with the GFA and the media but victory at the AFCON in Gabon could see the fans clamouring for his stay.
