The first Football Academy to be owned by a woman in Ghana, was launched in Accra on Monday night.
Astros Football Academy, co-founded by Madam Weso Moussalem and partner Mohammed Apopo Hamoui was unveiled at the Lord of the Wings Restaurant, East-Legon, Accra on Monday.
After five years of existence, Astros was finally unvieled to the world following months of grooming and development.
The Academy based in Dzorwulu-Accra, can boast of two hundred kids ranging from 3 years to 18 years.
The launch was inspired by French sportswear powerhouse Decathlon who provided some products to help in a fundraising event as part of plans to financially empower the Academy.
Items provided by Decathlon were autographed by Ghanaian football icon Abedi Pele Ayew and auctioned with the first jersey going for 1,500 cedis.

The launch which was graced by profound members of the football fraternity including UK based Cliff Poku, agent of former Arsenal midfielder, Emmanuel Frimpong.
The night was culminated by the staunch football fanatic Weso Moussalem who prefers to be called "Ekua" amidst tears expressed her profound gratitude to the various stakeholders who have been of immense help to the academy and promised her undivided commitment and willingness to ensure that the academy churns out great talents for the country.
