Ghana and Chelsea winger Christian Atsu has signed for English Championship side Newcastle United on a one year loan deal.
The 24 year-old hasn’t made a first-team appearance for Chelsea but has had loan spells at Everton and Bournemouth. He spent the second half of last season on loan with the La Liga club Malaga.
Footballghana.com understands that there is an option to buy if Newcastle get promoted to the English Premier League.
Atsu won the player of the tournament award at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations and is set to unite with the Black Stars ahead of the Afcon qualifier against Rwanda on Saturday September 3.
