Porto Goalkeeper Iker Casillas Reveals What Gigi Buffon Told Him After Juventus Win in Portugal

Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas has revealed what Gigi Buffon told him after Juventus beat the Portuguese side 2-0 in the first leg of the Champions League last 16 on Wednesday night.


The hosts had Alex Telles sent off in the first half with two bookings in the space of 74 seconds, and Juventus duly capitalised.Substitutes Marko Pjaca and Dani Alves scored in the second half to put the Serie A champions in control of the tie.


And Casillas has revealed what Buffon told him following the game as the two spoke on the pitch.

Buffon told me that the red card made it easier for them,� Casillas said on Mediaset Premium - viaFootball Italia.


We tried to do well, but those two minutes really changed everything. We could've fought it out with Juventus otherwise.


It'll be better for us in the second leg if they have someone sent off early on, but either way we need to work hard and keep believing.It will be difficult, but we will give it our best in Turin.�


Asked why he opted to join Porto after such a long spell with Los Blancos, Casillas said:My time at Real Madrid had come to an end.�

Iker Casillas makes his 174th appearance in UEFA competitions this evening, equalling Paolo Maldini's all-time record.

Casillas recently described Buffon as "one of the best of all time" and claimed:"He is a player who is known and admired all over the world and he is part of the history of this game."


The Spaniard has started all 22 of second placedPorto's league games this season, conceding just 11 goals.
