Also seeded were Japan, Syria, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, Islamic Republic of Iran, Iraq and hosts Indonesia.

A total 31 countries registered for the competition, with the teams placed in four pots for the draw on July 25.

China PR, DPR Korea, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Kyrgyz Republic and Thailand will be in Pot Two.

Pot Three will have Malaysia, Laos, Vietnam, Jordan, Yemen, Bangladesh, the Philippines and Hong Kong while Nepal, India, Cambodia, Timor Leste, Tajikistan, Myanmar and Palestine will be in Pot Four.

Men's football in the Asian Games is an Under-23 competition with each team allowed to register a maximum of three over-aged players.

Korea Republic defeated DPR Korea 1-0 in extra time to clinch the gold medal in 2014 with Iraq taking the bronze.

Korea Republic and IR Iran are the most successful nations in men's football at the Asian Games, having won the gold medal four times each.

Men's football will be played on August 15-September 1.
