Pre-season friendly: Golden Strikers FC brush side Supreme Light SA with a 2-0 win

Lower-tier side, Golden Strikers FC on Sunday posted an emphatic 2-0 win against Supreme Light Soccer Academy in a pre-season friendly encounter.

On the day, the two lower-tier outfits locked horns at the Adjirnganor Park for an exercise to give managers the chance to assess their players while trying out varying tactics.

Following a bright start to the match, Golden Strikers FC took charge of proceedings in the early part of the first half with their smooth passing play.

Having created the better goal-scoring opportunities, the team managed to take the lead in the 35th minute courtesy of a strike from Michael that brushed off the woodwork before hitting the back of the net.

Later in the second half, a good performance from both teams saw Supreme Light Soccer Academy making strides in their effort to restore parity.

Unfortunately for the side, Golden Strikers had too much in their locker and always had the antidote to stop their attack.

Eventually, Golden Strikers FC scored again in the 85th minute through a headed goal from Arafat that sealed a 2-0 win for the side at the end of regulation time.

The latest pre-season win gives the team confidence as they continue preparations for the start of the new football season.
