Before the start of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, the Phobians in their pre-season games scored 35 goals and conceded five goals in nine games.

However, Hearts of Oak opened their campaign with a 1-0 defeat against Real Tamale United (RTU) before beating Nsoatreman FC 1-0 to record their first win of the season at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Speaking after the game, the Dutch gaffer admitted that they had a good pre-season but that will not guarantee success.

“The pre-season was good but it is not a guarantee for a fallout of the competition so I think all together we deserved the three points [against Nsoatreman],” Martin Koopman told StarTimes.

Hearts of Oak will be hosted at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Friday in the matchday three games by Bofoakwa Tano with kick-off scheduled at 15:00GMT.
