Premier League Fantasy Football: Who's Hot And Who's Not in Gameweek 13

Published on: 24 November 2016

Premier League fantasy football, where those small changes you've been overthinking all week have the potential to make or destroy you.

Here's some last minute advice if you're still in need of that extra bit of inspiration...

Goalkeepers

Who's Hot

Ben Foster - West Brom's strong defence faces aHull side that has scored three times since the start of October, and two of those came in what was actually quitea surprise of awin.

Thibaut Courtois - A Tottenham attack down after their Champions League exit was sealed in midweek will find it hard to breach a Chelsea defence on a run of six straight clean sheets.

Who's Not

Tom Heaton - This is a tough one to call. but Burnley came spectacularly unstuck against West Brom in their last outing and could be in for an equally generous dayagainst Man City.

Eldin Jakupovic - Why is he still in nearly one fifth of all fantasy teams? The Hull stopper hasn't even played since gameweek 5 and there other similarly cheap options who aren't completely wasted in your squad. Sunderland's Jordan Pickford, for example.

Defenders

Who's Hot

Virgil van Dijk - Everton are this week's opposition for the Southampton defender, with the Toffees on a run of just one win in seven. He was also top class against Liverpool last week.

Gareth McAuley - It's the same deal as fellow BaggieFoster really. The veteran centre-back is also a real bargain and has added potential of scoring goals from set-pieces.

Who's Not

Kyle Walker - Piling up defensive injuries and a free scoring opponent, Spurs are likely to find life at the back very tough against Chelsea. These funds should go elsewhere for now.

Aaron Cresswell - Don't bring the West Ham man back into your line-up just yet following his return from injury last month. It could be a long day against Manchester United.

Midfielders

Who's Hot

Henrikh Mkhitaryan - A gamble, but what's the point if you're not living on the edge? The Armenian was on fire in Europe this weekand could keep his place against a poor West Ham defence.

Matt Phillips - After excellent fantasy output in each of the last two weeks, the West Brom winger is preparing for another favourable match against Hull and could produce even more.

Who's Not

Christian Eriksen - The Dane has largely disappointed for Spurs so far this season and will certainly struggle against a Chelsea team that threatens to swarm the midfield on Saturday.

Ross Barkley - The value for money really hasn't been there for most of the season. Expect Southampton to limit Everton's opportunities, so spend your funds elsewhere.

Forwards

Who's Hot

Modou Barrow - Bob Bradley very nearly got it right in Swansea's last match so there's excellent potential for fantasy points at home against a Crystal Palace team on a truly awful run.

Victor Anichebe - Cheaper than partner Jermain Defoe and with three goals in his last two games, Sunderland's battering ram is now preparing to meet a Liverpool defence that leaks even when winning comfortably. As an Evertonian, he has extra motivation as well.

Who's Not

Jamie Vardy - Leicester's main man might struggle against a Middlesbrough side who are likely to sit deep away from homeand not allow space behind the back four to be exploited.

Marcus Rashford - With Wayne Rooney back in contention, Zlatan Ibrahimovic back from suspension, and others fighting, the competition for placesat Man Utd has suddenly soared.
