Premier League Title Rivals Enter Race to Sign Porto Hotshot Andre Silva

A number of Premier League teams look set to enter a bidding war over Porto Striker Andre Silva, according to Portuguese media outletA Bola.


The 21-year-old has been in fine form this season having scored 10 goals in all competitions for his club.


Reports suggest that the forward is being monitored by a host of English teams, including Premier League title rivals Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United.

All four clubs are understood to have sent scouts to watch the player duringPorto's 1-0 win overBraga last weekend, whilst bothSouthampton and Newcastle are also believed to have had representatives at the match, to keep an eye on Silva should the big.


The forwardhas established himself as Porto's main striker having risenthrough the academy ranks and after impressing with the club's B side, he was introduced to first team football last season.

Despite only scoring three goals last year, the Portuguese international was given the nod to become his team's leading front-man, afterVincent Aboubakar was sold to Besiktas last summer.


Silva's impressive start to the campaign saw him called up to the national squad for the first time in Septemberand having made his debut against Gibraltar, he scored his first goal for Portugal during their 6-0 win over Andorra back in early October.

H followed that up with a hat-trick against the Faroe Islands just three days later, the 21-year-old has started to grab the attention of a host of European clubs, although hisbiggestadmirers appear to be based in England.


With the transfer window opening in just under a months time, Porto's resolve to keep Silva may be tested if any of the interested Premier League clubs make a bid for the striker.


However, having signed a long term contract just a few months ago, it's unlikely this up-and-coming star will come cheap, so clubs may choose to continue to monitor Silva's progressionfor the rest of the season, before considering a move for himnext summer.
