The Presidential Advisor on Health, Dr. Nsiah Asare has indicated that the best decision on the fate of the 2019/2020 football season is for it to be canceled and started when it is safe to.

Following a good start to the football season in December 2019, the campaign only lasted 3 months and had to be halted due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) disease.

With no football activity experienced since March, Dr. Nsiah Asare says it will be best the season is truncated.

In an interview with FOX FM, the Presidential advisor on Health said: “I would have personally wished the football season is truncated”.

“It will be fair to end this season (2019/20) and begin a new season if only the Ghana Football Association will agree to it”.

The discussions on the fate of the 2019/2020 football season is still ongoing with the Ghana FA scheduled to make a final decision on the matter at the end of this month.

Though a section of the football fraternity wants the season to continue, there are others who also support the cancelation of the campaign.
