Adu Poku said that the German side was interested in signing him, however, the Porcupine Warriors refused to sell him despite making promises and this really affected him.

"If I say it didn’t affect me, I will be lying, It started with when we went to Germany, Hamburg wanted me,” he said.

"They (Kotoko) said we should come back to Ghana and they will give me what the German club was offering, at that time they wanted to make me captain, I was then the deputy.

"They promised me the captaincy and an improved contract”

He added, "When we returned, I had the accident three days later and it destroyed everything."

"But in everything let’s give thanks to God, so far as there is life, nothing else matters."
